Located on the stone path used in the 8C by Shodo Shonin, the shrine is tucked away among the Japanese cedars. The carpet of moss, across which the giant trees' roots intertwine, contrasts with the vermilion lacquer covering the building. Inside there are wooden statues of the bodhisattva Jizō Bosatsu and disciples of Shodo. Between the trunks nearby, you will see the tomb of the founding priest (735-817) and the small Sannomya temple, linked to fertility, in front of which women lay planks covered with prayers.
