Descrizione
This museum stands on the site of the former studios of the record label Stax, since knocked down, where soul artists from the 1960-70s recorded. Founded in 1957, this label had black and white musicians play together, despite segregation. Information panels, artefacts, costumes, photos, sound extracts and videos throw you back into the abundant history of Memphis soul, with its raw, unmixed sound, and Stax, which enjoyed its heyday with the Wattstax festival in Los Angeles in 1972.
