Descrizione
Established in the middle of Shiomi Nawate-dori, an exquisite street lined with Edo period houses, this residence dates back to 1730. The biggest in Matsue, it once belonged to the Shiomi family, mid-ranking warriors in the service of the Matsudaira lords. The lavish main gate and the dimensions and opulence of the banquet halls contrast heavily with the Spartan conditions of the family's private quarters (which showcase furniture and items from the era).
