A holiday destination appreciated for its small beaches on the lake and peace and quiet, the island of Sollerön is renowned for building so-called church boats, the shape of which is reminiscent of Viking boats. These rowing boats used to bring parishioners to the church. Nowadays, races are organised on Lake Siljan in summer.
