Generally considered to be the heart of downtown Saint John, this square is graced with trees, flowerbeds arranged in the shape of the British Union Jack and a two-storey bandstand. In one corner stands the historic city market, where a variety of fresh New Brunswick produce can be bought, including dulse. A Loyalist burial ground lies on the other side of the square.
