The impressive Citadel gate was erected in 1598 to bolster the defences of the Craffe gate. The countryside and town-side facades are connected by a remarkable vaulted passage. Built in the Renaissance style, it is adorned with a number of bas-reliefs and heraldic trophies attributed to Florent Drouin.
