The village of Leštiny, 3km east of Vyšný Kubin, is home to one of the loveliest attractions in the country. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a wooden articular church (1689) at the top of the hill. A covered wooden staircase leads to the building, which is surrounded by a wooden fence with its picturesque bell tower. Inside, you can admire the rich furniture (altar, pulpit) and moreover some especially fine 17C and 18C paintings.
