A formidable keep built of ochre stones stands in the middle of a lush garden, the legacy of the Knights Hospitaller in Cyprus. The soldier-monks settled in Kolossi in the early 13C and remained until the late 15C. There, they worked vines and sugarcane. At the foot of the keep, an agricultural building from this era has survived. The living space was very simple: a ground floor serving as a storage space and two storeys for the abode. The terrace commands fine views over the surrounding area.
