Lovers Key is a superb pristine barrier beach, covering 178ha of white sandy beach, mangrove estuary, marine channel and tidal lagoon. The wildlife is abundant: one can observe the pink spoonbill, egret, blower dolphin or West Indian manatee (species classified as vulnerable). A boardwalk leads to the beach, crossing two peaceful lagoons, where fishermen cast their lines in the hope of catching trout, perch and pike.
