The old road, built in 1872, runs alongside the crystal-clear waters of the river, passing through a series of tunnels and crossing a railway viaduct. At the Bärentritt viewpoint, the view plunges 80 metres down to the confluence of the Landwasser and the torrent that forms the Sägetobel waterfall on the right.
