One of the largest state parks in the US, Custer Park includes blond prairies with their thick grass vegetation, marshy depressions, lush forest and granite peaks. It is also home to a rich diversity of fauna, including a herd of 1 400 bison. The visitor centre is worth a look before heading out on one of the three scenic winding trails running through the park which will enable you to discover some of its animals and which lead to Sylvan Lake and Harney Peak.
