Since 2016, the city has been developing the banks of the Chicago River, after having turned its back on it for over a century due to uncontrolled pollution. It is now possible to follow the main course of the river, which has been cleaned up, along the nicely laid out promenade. This touristy development is dotted with benches, cafes and restaurants, and artists also perform here. It also offers exceptional and photogenic views of Chicago's architectural masterpieces.
