Known as the Pasha's square, St. George's square and since the 19C, as Parade square, it was the centre of the castle district during the Middle Ages. It is surrounded by Baroque and Neoclassical buildings, including the Post Office with the ochre façade. You will see a statue which commemorates the uprising of the Hungarians against the Hapsburgs in 1848-1849.
