The Old Town is a warren of well-restored pedestrian streets lined by lovely houses, whose decoration is reminiscent of the Bernese domination. On Rathausgasse, look out for the superb painted overhangs. Frescoes on the facades, brown gabled roofs, oriels and wrought iron signs add an undeniable cachet to the site. Level with Oberer Turm, a square tower (1532), head for the parish church topped with a late-17C belfry.
