Aze Beach has all the ingredients of a natural idyll: an unspoilt, wooded coastline, 1.5km of white sand contrasting with the black of the rocks, and clear water up to the protective coral reef 200m away. This site is also commonly known as the "Prince Beach", in memory of the 1972 visit of the crown prince, Akihito (today emperor) and his wife. In May, a local festival takes place to celebrate the end of the sugar cane harvest.
