A cruise on the Winnipesaukee lake aboard the M/S Mt Washington, the Sophie C Mail or the Winnipesaukee Spirit is an excellent way to discover the multitude of islands: from the luxurious mansions of Governor's Island to the wild, forest-covered islets. On a clear day, you can see the White Mountains in the distance. The crossing of the lake from Weirs Beach takes two hours, during which the boat passes calm sailing boats, jet-skis and small fishing boats.
