The Rim Walk is the most famous and spectacular hike in Watarrka National Park. Impressive in the beauty and scale of its landscapes, it runs along steep red sandstone walls that rise above palm forests. Taking walkers in the footsteps of the Luritja Aborigines, this 6 km loop, marked with explanatory panels, begins with a fairly steep climb of several hundred steps, before following the edge of the canyon. The detour to Cotterill’s Lookout allows you to admire the splendour of the site up close. Those prone to vertigo, refrain!
