Look out for Shane Cotton’s striking mural of pots outside the Britomart heritage trading building that houses this restaurant. Distressed walls, earthy tones and plenty of oak create a warm and effortlessly chic environment. The open kitchen forms the centrepiece of the room, from where dishes full of bold Pacific and New Zealand flavours are sent forth. The grill is used to great effect, in dishes like duck breast with pear and chestnuts, but the kitchen also shows its delicate hand via the silky squid with fried almonds.
