Escape to your own private island this Christmas with the Silent Night Stay on the Isle of Skye, inspired by Booking.com’s 2026 Travel Predictions trend, ‘Hushed Hobbies’. Perched on the tranquil shores of Isleornsay and reachable only by boat, this off-grid retreat is your chance to unplug, enjoy a digital detox, and reconnect with nature. New research from Booking.com shows over half of Brits crave an ‘off-grid’ Christmas, with many seeking peace and quiet over parties and the opportunity to slow down. Eilean Sionnach Lighthouse Cottage delivers exactly that - four stylish bedrooms, a roll-top sea-view bathtub, a wood-burning stove, and sweeping views over Loch Hourn and Knoydart- perfect for restorative mornings and mindful, nature-based adventures. The Silent Night Stay will allow up to four guests to enjoy a curated itinerary of Hushed Hobbies on the island – including gentle, grounding activities such as birdwatching, seaweed foraging, sound baths and open swimming. A locally sourced food hamper and refreshments will also be provided. The stay costs just £20.25 in total and spans three nights, from 19–22 December, offering the ultimate chance to unwind and refresh before the festive period and is available to book from 10.00 GMT on 5th December. Arrival on and off the Island On arrival and departure, you will be transferred on and off the island by private boat (which will be organised upon booking). It’s an open boat and can carry four passengers plus cargo. Please note it is not possible to take you across to the island in the dark. The Skipper must be safely back to shore by no later than half an hour after sunset, so you should plan for your dining out experiences to be at lunchtime. Extra boat trips can be agreed with the skipper. A food order and refreshments will be delivered to the island. The curated itinerary of hushed hobbies will all take place on the island.
