Led by Chef Naoki Nakashima, this location is the latest addition to Rich Melman and Jerry Orzoff's LEYE empire. Tucked into a sexy, speakeasy-type space within the lobby of Stratford on the Park, seating here is limited to a handful of tables and a small counter that accommodates six diners. Snag those reservations in advance because the menu is incredibly delicious and approachable—offering traditional nigiri and sushi alongside carefully constructed maki, temaki (hand rolls), as well as a host of inventive Japanese small plates. Think tender hamachi paired with aji panca, ponzu, and a chiffonade of scallion; or decadent yet ethereally light truffle chawanmushi, finished with a layer of ponzu and a flutter of feather-light truffle shavings.
